In Memory Of Gus

I am currently employed full time as an Active Directory and Server Administrator at a Fortune 500 company. I'm part of a small team who manages the enterprise's Active Directory resources and keeps a couple hundred physical and virtual servers running well. My job is cool, the challenges are fantastic, and I have true passion for what I do.

I enjoy various geek hobbies and self-teaching pursuits that extend beyond the realm of what I see daily in my work and do not apply directly to my current career focus. I am an avid OSS user/tinkerer; I've recently switched to Arch Linux from Gentoo, as I prefer running the latest packages which are always available in rolling release distributions. I learned a lot running Gentoo, however in my opinion, Arch Linux gives you all the best from Gentoo without the complication. It's very fast, and very lean.

Outside of work and Linux, I also spend a lot of time taking part in the performance computing community at Overclockers.com. I help out there as an Editor for the blog, and an Administrator on the forums - the people involved in that community are a constant inspiration in aspiring to learn, understand, and better leverage technology.
